Gregg Allman has enlisted the help of both the Doobie Brothers and Bruce Hornsby to help kick off his first ever Laid Back Festival. The event, promoted by Live Nation, will take place at the Nikon Jones Beach Theater in New York on August 29. The event will feature not only music but also a selection of food offerings from fine eateries as well as craft brewed beers and local wines. Allman named the event after his debut solo album and said it’s been a blast pulling the event together. “Creating this fest has been a lot of fun,” the musician said in a statement. “Good music, good food and drink and a beautiful beach – what could be better?” Tickets for the event go on sale starting on May 1.
