Pete Townshend has released “Guantanamo,” one of two new cuts to feature on the upcoming comp Truancy: The Very Best of Pete Townshend, due to land on June 30. “Down in Guantanamo, guilty with no charge,” Townshend sings on the politically charged track. “I hope it offers a selection that works to introduce new fans to my solo work,” he says of the new tune. “I am a bit of a dabbler, I’m afraid. I am as interested in building, developing and playing with recording studios as I am with making music.
