Yes bass player Chris Squire has been diagnosed with leukemia and is undergoing treatment, meaning he has to excuse himself from the band’s current tour. Billy Sherwood, who has played with the band for several years, will fill in for Squire. “This will be the first time since the band formed in 1968 that Yes will have performed live without me,” said Squire in a presser. “But the other guys and myself have agreed that Billy Sherwood will do an excellent job of covering my parts and the show as a whole will deliver the same Yes experience that our fans have come to expect over the years.” The band’s two CD/DVD release, Like It Is – Yes at the Mesa Arts Center, lands on July 10.
