Elton John will host an Apple Music radio show on the channel Beats 1, which launches June 30, along with the new music streaming service from the Cupertino-based company. Other stars to get shows include Drake, Queens of the Stone Age fronter Josh Homme, Pharrell Williams, Dr. Dre, St. Vincent, Disclosure and Jaden Smith. According to the New York Times, the musicians will “host and plan the shows themselves.” The Times also reports that the idea for Beats 1 came from Nine Inch Nails fronter Trent Reznor. Apple Music features include on-demand streaming, social networking, and round-the-clock radio programming via Beats 1. Beats 1 will be free and supported by ads.
