The Fender Stratocaster that Bob Dylan used at the Newport Folk Festival 50 years ago returned to the fest on its first day over the weekend. In 2013, the guitar was bought at auction for $913,000 by Jim Irsay, owner of the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. “[Dylan’s guitar] is such an important part of musical history, and Dylan was our generation’s Shakespeare, so it’s our way to give back and share,” Irsay said in a statement. The curator of Irsay’s guitar collection brought the instrument to the festival. “Dylan’s guitar is home,” said Newport producer Jay Sweet from the stage. On Sunday, the fest’s final day, the event was closed out with a Dylan tribute. Dylan himself last played the Newport Folk Festival in 2002. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
