David Bowie has released a version of “Holy Holy,” one that has been unavailable since 1971, when it was released as a single. The cut is a preview off Bowie’s massive upcoming box set Five Years 1969-1973. The single was recorded with the members of Blue Mink in November 1970 following the completion of The Man Who Sold The World sessions. A faster version of the track appeared on the B-side of Bowie’s Diamond Dogs in 1974. Five Years 1969-1973, a 12 CD/13 LP collection, features the albums David Bowie, The Man Who Sold The World, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane, PinUps, Live Santa Monica ’72, Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture Soundtrack, Re:Call 1 (a remix of Spiders from Mars) and Re:Call 2 (a two-disc compilation of non-album singles, single versions and B-sides).
