The 1970s rock-themed show in development between Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese has been dubbed Vinyl. The show has been years in development and is now set to hit the screen in 2016. The show will star Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde and Ray Romano. It is described by network HBO as, “Set in 1970s New York, the series will explore the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound.” The project was first announced in 2011 and was conceived by Jagger as a feature-length film, but was switched to the hour-long series format with the addition of Scorsese as a producer.
