The Big Pink is open for nightly stays. The house in which Bob Dylan and the Band recorded the majority of the Basement Tapes is now available to rent. According to the listing on VRBO.com, nightly rentals start at $650. “The updated Dormer unit was Levon Helm’s bunk area back in the late ’60s,” reads the listing in part. The house is also featured on the sleeve for the Band’s Music from Big Pink album. Although the songs were actually recorded in LA and New York, the group included a picture of the home on the back cover of the album. “A pink house seated in the sun of Overlook Mountain in West Saugerties, New York. Big Pink bore this music and these songs along its way. It’s the first witness of this album that’s been thought and composed right there inside its walls,” reads the accompanying caption.
