Journey have welcomed back drummer Steve Smith, who originally drummed with the band back in the 1990s, to replace the recently fired Deen Castronovo. The band also announced a new 2016 tour with the Doobie Brothers. They will be joined on the road by Dave Mason for the new run called San Francisco Fest 2016, which will kick off May 12 in Irvine, California. The tour also stops along the way in Phoenix, Tampa Bay, Nashville, Las Vegas and Denver before coming to a close on August 30 in Chula Vista, California. “It’s gonna be a great summer for fans of Bay Area music, and for guys like us who have the pleasure of teaming up with our good friends from Journey and the Dave Mason Band,” enthused the Doobie Brothers in a statement. “We look forward to taking the stage with Journey. We love their songs, and think we will all complement each other musically. It is going to be a powerful tour. We can’t wait to share it with the fans!” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com.
