Bob Dylan has removed all mention of his Nobel Prize win from his official website. The phrase “winner of the Nobel Prize in literature” that was in “the lyrics” section of Dylan’s website was taken down. The Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet first spotted the acknowledgment, calling it a “sign of life” from the reclusive folk icon. The Guardian of the U.K. noted the scrubbed page Friday. The Swedish Academy has said it tried unsuccessfully to make contact with his reps. The board said it had given up trying to confirm whether he’ll even attend a Stockholm banquet honoring him and other Nobel winners in December. “If he doesn’t want to come, he won’t come,” Swedish Academy secretary Sara Danius has said. “It will be a big party in any case and the honor belongs to him.” Dylan became the first ever songwriter to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
