The Rolling Stones made the top ten of Forbes’ World’s Highest-Paid Musicians List, finishing at No. 8 with reported earnings of $66.5 million. AC/DC finished at No. 7 ($67.5 million), while Bruce Springsteen (No. 11, $60.5 million), Paul McCartney (No. 12, $56.5 million) and U2 ($55 million) also made the list. Elton John landed at No. 24 ($42 million) and Jimmy Buffett is at No. 27 ($40.5 million). Taylor Swift ($170 million) and One Direction ($110 million) topped the annual list. The magazine based its rankings on pretax income from June 1, 2015 to June 1, 2016, before management fees. The income figures are collected from Pollstar, Nielsen and the Recording Industry Association of America, as well as through interviews with managers, lawyers, agents and, sometimes, the stars themselves.
