Amazon has acquired the rights to the Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip from director Amir Bar-Lev and executive producer Martin Scorsese. Long Strange Trip will feature candid interviews with the band, road crew, family members and notable Deadheads. It will also feature some of the band’s best live performances and never-before-seen footage and photos. “Stranger than fiction – a user’s guide for an impossible journey,” former drummer Mickey Hart said of the film in a statement. Founding member Bob Weir also commented on the film and described his bond with his fellow bandmates as “way tighter” and lasting “much longer than most marriages.” The four-hour, six-part doc is heading to Amazon Prime Video on May 26. Long Strange Trip will officially make its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
