Sting has scored a nomination in the Best Song category at the upcoming Oscars. His nomination comes for the track “The Empty Chairs” from the film Jim: The James Foley Story. This year Sting joins an impressive group nominated for the honor including Justin Timberlake. “[J. Ralph] invited me down to his studio in Chinatown and showed me the film, which devastated me, and then he said, ‘would you write a song with this musical setting I’ve done?'” Sting told Deadline. “I said, ‘I don’t think I can. It’s too devastating.'” He added: “I gave it to Josh the next day. He said, ‘You’re supposed to make this look hard.'” Timberlake’s nomination comes for his track “Can’t Stop This Feeling” from the film Trolls. Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
