A new documentary about David Bowie is reportedly in the works via HBO. The doc, titled The Last Five Years, follows the legendary musician during the creation of his final two albums The Next Day and Blackstar. “Looking at Bowie’s extraordinary creativity during the last five years of his life has allowed me to reexamine his life’s work and move beyond the simplistic view that his career was simply predicated on change,” said director Francis Whately of the film. In the film, video director Johan Renck opens up about discovering the news of Bowie’s illness noting: “I found out… the week we were shooting, it was when he was told it was over,” Renck says. “They were ending treatments and that his illness had won.” Copyright(c) 2017 RTTNews.com.
