The Doors have been voted into the Ultimate Classic Rock Hall of Fame. The website hosts a monthly fan voted poll to induct classic rock acts into its HOF. Van Morrison and the Who will perform at the Teenage Cancer Trust benefit at London’s Royal Albert Hall during a run of gigs scheduled from March 23 to March 28. Other acts announced include Stereophonics, Paul Weller, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.More »

According to Ultimate Classic Rock, 50,000 random copies of AARP’s February 3 issue of the magazine will include Dylan’s new CD. Tom Petty has been awarded songwriting royalties for Sam Smith’s hit song “Stay With Me.” In April 2014 when Smith’s “Stay With Me” was released listeners began to point out the resemblance to Petty’s 1989 song “I Won’t Back Down.” Petty’s lawyers followed suit, recognizing the similarities, which resulted in Petty and Smith settling out of court back in October.More »
