Duff McKagan will join Pearl Jam's Mike McCready for a special performance alongside the Seattle Symphony next year. The concert will take place January 30 as part of an event titled "Sonic Evolution."
The purpose of "Sonic Evolution" is to celebrate Seattle's musical history with brand new symphonic compositions inspired by the work of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and others.
The performance will be curated by the symphony's music director Ludovic "Ludo" Morlot. The series pits musicians from local pop, rock and hip-hop acts with the symphony to provide a different perspective on the music.
"Mike brought something up about it a couple of months ago and I'm pretty tight with Mike," McKagan told VH1 Radio. "We've been good buddies since we were 16. It might be him and [me] and [drummer] Barrett Martin."
"Sonic Evolution" will take place at Seattle's Benaroya Hall.
