Steely Dan and Elvis Costello have confirmed plans for a joint tour together later this year. The rock icons had already confirmed a one-off date together at the Coachella Festival but will now take their show on the road. Steely Dan will headline most of the tour, pulling favorites from throughout their 40-year back catalogue. Costello and his current band The Imposters will open most shows, according to Rolling Stone. “We’re not reluctant to make new music,” Walter Becker told Rolling Stone of the band’s slow output in recent years. “It’s a whole other type of process that starts off more like, ‘What do I want to do now?’ or ‘What does it seem like I’m doing now as I look at myself and see what really interests me?’ To be reluctant and to confront our adolescent output, it may be somewhat daunting, but that’s not the way I feel about it.” Steely Dan Tour Dates: 4/6 – Morrison, CO @ Red Rocks 4/7 – Santa Rosa, CA @ Wells Fargo Center for the Arts 4/8 – Santa Rosa, CA @ Wells Fargo Center for the Arts 4/10 – Indio, CA @ Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival 4/11 – Las Vegas, NV @ The Pearl Theatre 4/14 – Paso Robles, CA @ Vina Robles Amphitheatre 4/15 – Santa Barbara, CA @ Santa Barbara Bowl 4/17 – Indio, CA @ Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival 4/18 – San Diego, CA @ Humphrey’s Concerts by the Bay 7/6 – Morrison, CO @ Red Rocks 7/9 – Auburn, WA @ White River Amphitheatre 7/11 – Mountain View, CA @ Shoreline Amphitheatre 7/13 – Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl 7/15 – Albuquerque, NM @ Isleta Amphitheater 7/17 – Austin, TX @ Austin360 Amphitheater 7/18 – Houston, TX @ Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion 7/19 – Dallas, TX @ Gexa Energy Pavilion 7/22 – Maryland Heights, MO @ Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre 7/24 – Highland Park, IL @ Ravinia Festival 7/25 – Highland Park, IL @ Ravinia Festival 7/27 – Clarkston, MI @ DTE Energy Music Theatre 7/28 – Cuyahoga Falls, OH @ Blossom Music Center 7/30 – Boston, MA @ Blue Hills Bank Pavilion 7/31 – Boston, MA @ Blue Hills Bank Pavilion 8/1 – Holmdel, NJ @ PNC Bank Arts Center 8/3 – Camden, NJ @ Susquehanna Bank Center 8/5 – Bristow, VA @ Jiffy Lube Live 8/6 – Raleigh, NC @ Walnut Creek Amphitheatre 8/8 – Nashville, TN @ West Riverfront Park 8/9 – Atlanta, GA @ Chastain Park Amphitheatre ASO 8/11 – Tampa, FL @ MidFlorida Credit Union Amp. 8/12 – West Palm Beach, FL @ Cruzan Amphitheatre Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com.
