The David Bowie exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art is closing this week. So far Chicago is the only city in the nation to host the exhibit, which is called, “David Bowie Is.” Visitors from all over have been flying in to see the display, even well known celebrities, such as George Lucas, Usher and Neil Young. “We thought about and worked long and hard to bring this exhibit to the MCA,” said Michael Darling, chief curator at The Museum of Contemporary Art. “There’s a multidisiciplinary quality to his (Bowie’s) work that sets him apart from other pop stars. There’s a real depth to it.” The exhibit showcases all the facets of the Thin White Duke’s creative life and career as a musician. This past weekend it is said that nearly 150,000 people will have seen the exhibit. All advance tickets for the exhibit’s remaining days are sold out. The exhibit’s run ends Sunday, January 4.
