Bob Dylan has offered to give AARP members a free copy of his new album, Shadows in the Night. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, 50,000 random copies of AARP’s February 3 issue of the magazine will include Dylan’s new CD. Shadows in the Night is a covers album from Dylan, which features ten standards from the Great American Songbook, which were all recorded by Frank Sinatra as well. In Dylan’s recent interview with AARP magazine he was quoted as saying, “If it was up to me, I’d give you the records for nothing and you give them to every [reader of your] magazine.” This free giveaway of Dylan’s music is reminiscent of U2’s release of their most recent album, Songs of Innocence, to Apple’s iTunes users.
