The earliest known piece of color film footage of the Beatles is reportedly set to hit the auction block this week. The film, an 8mm reel dating back to 1963, will be available to bidders through the Surrey, U.K. auction house Ewbanks on February 7. The three-minute reel shows clips of the Fab Four both on and backstage and the auction house released a 15-second teaser clip of the footage via YouTube. The lot will also include a digitized copy of the footage and the original film canister, all of which has been authenticated and dated to August 23, 1963. The footage was captured during the fourth of five shows at the ABC Theater in Blackpool that summer and it was shot by a skiffle singer named Chas McDevitt, who was also on the bill for the shows. The film, which has no sound, is expected to sell for $10,500-13,500. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
