Randall Miller, the director of the ill starred Gregg Allman biopic, pled not guilty to involuntary manslaughter, following the death of a production assistant last year. Sarah Jones was killed when an unexpected train arrived on set where the crew was filming. Miller was sentenced to two years in prison, eight of probation, and a $20,000 fine. “They didn’t think a train was going to come, but a train came, they tried to get the bed off the tracks,” Deadline’s David Robb told CBS News. “The train hit the bed, and the bed hit [the camera assistant] and knocked her into the train and she was killed.” Miller’s wife, who faced similar charges, had those charges dropped as part of a deal with prosecutors. The third defendant in the case, Jay Sedrish, will serve ten years of probation, after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Following the incident, Allman sued Miller to stop production of the movie; they settled out of court. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
