Eric Clapton will celebrate his 70th birthday with a two-night stand at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The shows are tentatively set for May 1 and 2. Clapton will be accompanied by his band, featuring Paul Carrack, Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Chris Stainton, Sharon White and Michelle John. Welsh guitarist Andy Fairweather Low and his band the Low Riders will open both shows. The MSG gigs will mark Clapton’s 46th and 47th time taking the stage at the historic venue, the most on any venue of his career. Clapton will return to London, where he’s scheduled to play seven shows at the Royal Albert Hall throughout May. He first played MSG with Cream on November 2, 1968 as the band wrapped up their first tour of the U.S. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
