The Yardbirds have postponed their U.S. tour, set to begin in Connecticut on April 3, after drummer Jim McCarty fell ill. “Unfortunately, due to health concerns and extenuating circumstances, The Yardbirds’ Spring 2015 tour dates have been postponed.” In addition to McCarty, the lineup for the tour is Top Topham, who left the group in the mid-1960s, along with bassist Kenny Aaronson and singer Myke Scavone, who previously fronted Ram Jam. McCarty apologized to his fans on his website, saying, “I’m very sorry to announce that due to medical reasons, the tour this Spring to the US has had to be cancelled. Whilst it is (these days anyway) a minor procedure that I’m having, it will take me a little while to recuperate.” The band has announced no plans to reschedule dates. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com.
