Brian May, guitarist for Queen, says that Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) is definitely out of the role of Freddie Mercury in the upcoming Queen biopic. Queen manager Jim Beach joked during the London’s Artists & Management awards that Cohen would, in fact, star in the role, but later May had to clarify. “[Reports don’t] mention a small joke that Jim threw in during his acceptance speech. He said that, in response to enquiries about the progress on the Freddie feature film, that Sacha Baron Cohen had been re-engaged to write, produce, and direct the film, as well as starring in all four major roles!” “I’m afraid some folks might have taken it seriously,” May wrote on his blog. Cohen left the film after disputes in the portrayal of Mercury with May and Queen drummer Roger Taylor. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
