Pete Townshend has signed on to appear at a benefit concert called “Celebrating the Who” this spring. The show will take place at the Rosemont Theater in Chicago and proceeds from the concert will go towards Teen Cancer America, a charity long supported by the Who. Townshend is just one of many big name rockers who will appear at the show, which also includes Eddie Vedder, Simon Townshend (Pete’s brother), drummer Zak Starkey and bassist Pino Palladino. Roger Daltrey has been a support of Teen Cancer for decades and helped launch a similar charity concert series in the U.K. It should be an especially sweet night for Vedder, who has openly noted that the Who are one of his favorite bands of all time. “Imagine, as a kid, stumbling upon the locomotive that is Live at Leeds,” Vedder said in 2010. “‘Hi, my name is Eddie. I’m 10 years old and I’m getting my f-ing mind blown!'” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
