Miley Cyrus hooked up with Joan Jett to perform the latter’s cut “Different” for Miley’s Happy Hippy Foundation’s Backyard Sessions video series. Other sessions have featured Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! (“True Trans Soul Rebel”), a cover by Cyrus of Dido’s “No Freedom,” and a collab with Jett and Grace on the Replacement tune “Androgynous.” The Happy Hippie Foundation is an organization devoted to helping homeless youth, lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender youth, and other vulnerable people. “Pointless judgment and its effects are unfortunately something that is way too common,” Cyrus said in her announcement. “All humans have valid feelings and rights! I want to use my voice as a megaphone to young people everywhere and encourage human evolution.” Each video, performed in Cyrus’ own backyard, will debut exclusively on Facebook and include a “donate” feature that enables fans to make a direct donation.
