Bruce Springsteen has released a live recording of a performance in support of his 1984 hit album Born In the USA. The album, recorded on August 5, 1984 at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford (New Jersey), features many hits from Born In the USA as well as several older Springsteen standards. The show, which was the first of a ten-night stand at the Arena, featured Nils Lofgren and Patti Scialfa (who would eventually date and marry Springsteen) and did not include Steven Van Zandt, who had just left the band.
