Pete Townshend and Eddie Vedder teamed up to played Who songs to raise money for the band’s Teen Cancer America organization in Chicago on Thursday, May 14. The pair played many Who songs throughout the night, such as “Behind Blue Eyes” and “My Generation.” Several other artists, including Joe Walsh, Joan Jett and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, came to perform for the event called An Evening Celebrating the Who. Jett, who is currently opening for the Who on tour, covered “Summertime Blues,” which featured Townshend and Walsh on guitars. While most of the night was spent covering songs by the Who, Vedder managed to squeeze the Pearl Jam track “Better Man” into the mix. Townshend shared the stage with him for the song.
