A Cordova, Tennessee man has been charged with a two-year suspended sentence with probation after stealing a pair of Elton John’s sunglasses from the Memphis Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Matthew Colvin, 26, lifted the famous heart-shaped blue glasses last month, and they were recovered a week later. Colvin could have faced as much as four years in prison for the crime, and was charged by Memphis Police on May 4. The police also recovered a red glasses sleeve that held the specs. Elton meanwhile kept busy recently when he went to his school reunion to reconnect with the people from Pinner County Grammar School, which he attended 57 years ago. The 68-year-old singer traveled to England over the weekend to meet up with his old classmates and admitted “it was as if we never left.” Keith Francis, who flew in from Australia for the event, was one old friend in particular John was excited to see.
