Rumor has it that Roger Daltrey and Liam Gallagher are teaming up to form a supergroup. The new band – to play one show only – for the TFI Friday British TV special on June 12. According to The Sun, Daltrey and Gallagher will sing “My Generation” backed by drummer Zak Starkey, son of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. “Liam’s got a bit of time on his hands since Beady Eye called it a day last year, so he fancied trying his hand at something new,” a source told the paper. “He’s told his mates he’s pretty bored. Other than Noel, you would be hard pushed to find a better set of bandmates than Roger, Ian [Broudie of the Lightning Seeds] and Zak. It’s a proper supergroup, and the performance will be something to remember.” TFI Friday was a series that ran from 1996 to 2000 on Channel 4 in the U.K. and is being revived for the one off special.
