Patti Smith will play her 1975 album Horses in full at two dates at London’s Roundhouse on October 30 and 31. Tickets for the dates will go on sale Friday, June 12. On Sunday, Smith played the album in its entirety at Field Day, closing the set with “Elegie,” which she dedicated to, among others, Jimi Hendrix, for whom she wrote the song. “This song is for all the people we’ve lost,” she told the audience, calling out the names of dead friends like Robert Mapplethorpe and her late husband Fred “Sonic” Smith. “Call out!” The Roundhouse gigs mark the 40th anny of Horses. For the gigs, Patti will perform alongside two of the original members – guitarist Lenny Kaye and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty – who appeared on the LP. They’ll be joined by long time band member bassist/keyboard player Tony Shanahan. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
