Vivian Campbell, guitarist for Def Leppard, is once again battling the Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer that he’s dealt with for the past two years. Campbell announced the sad news on Facebook. “I’m saddened by the fact that my cancer has returned,” he began. “However, I’m beyond consolation that it’s return will prevent me from being able to do my job for a while. I’m still working on a schedule of treatment with my doctors, but I will see you all very soon. My apologies.” He was first diagnosed in 2013, before his doctors told him that the cancer had gone into remission. It returned in September, at which point he received a stem cell transplant. This week, Def Lep begins a tour with Styx and Tesla. On their last trek, Campbell was replaced by Trixter guitarist Steve Brown, who’s rumored to take the reigns for him once again.
