The Grateful Dead celebrated their 50th anny and said goodbye to fans with their final show at Chicago’s Soldier Field over the weekend. In total the band played three farewell shows at the stadium. “Playing the 50th year is more than overwhelming. These are the biggest gigs we have ever done. We have never played shows like this before,” drummer Billy Kreutzmann told CNN. “I was amazed by that because basically the Grateful Dead hasn’t been doing anything since 2009.” Soldier Field was where the band played its last show with the late Jerry Garcia. Mickey Hart closed out the show by thanking the Dead’s loyal fans: “The feeling we have here – remember it, take it home and do some good with it. I’ll leave you with this: Please, be kind.” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
