Ringo Starr celebrated his 75th birthday with a special event at the Capitol Music building in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. The former Beatle was flanked by a host of celebrity cohorts including filmmaker David Lynch, Eagles guitarist-songwriter Joe Walsh and musician Edgar Winter. He not only used that event to celebrate his birthday but also to hold his annual “Peace and Love” ceremony during which he invites fans to repeat the words with him and add them to social media. He spoke with Chris Carter, host of the long-running “Breakfast With the Beatles” about the ritual and said “It’s become a real thing, not just a fad thing.” He started the ceremony in 2005 after being asked what he’d like as a 65th birthday present. He publicized the most recent ceremony stating, “More peace and love.” That led to his annual invitation for “everyone everywhere to think, say or do #PeaceAndLove at Noon their local time,” Starr said in a statement.
