The estate of the Beatles has enlisted famed comic book artist Alex Ross to create a new series of paintings of the Fab Four. The series of paintings will be unveiled at the upcoming San Diego ComicCon event. The first painting has already been revealed in online images and measures an impressive six-feet wide. It shows the band in a surreal nod to their Yellow Submarine era, and each of the band members are seen riding upon a giant head while toting a brass instrument. “I was very much raised on that film,” Ross tells Rolling Stone, “so I know every detail of it, and I can import that into my work, as though it was a live-action film that they starred in. I was warned at the outset that they might not get approval from the [John Lennon and George Harrison] estates to release it formally – that it was a kind of test. I thought I might not get another chance at this, so I wanted to put everything plus the kitchen sink in one piece of art.” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
