A roadie for the Who says that someone sabotaged the band’s equipment prior to their 2015 Glastonbury performance. Guitarist Pete Townshend described the gig as one of the worst from the band, who replaced Prince on the bill at the last minute. The roadie, writing on the band’s website, described the scene prior to the show. “As we began to prepare, we found someone had sabotaged the carefully-tested audio connections for much of our gear. We’ve never seen that before – but we’re good at plugging things in, so all damage was repaired in time.” He continues, “Within a few songs, we knew something was wrong. The band were playing more than a little loose, rather sloppy in fact. Pete was growing angry right away, yelling at one point that the band ought to play ‘like we’re in the same f*****g band.'” Throughout the set, the techs had to scramble with stage adjustments, but the roadie adds that the band’s anger added a little heat to the performance. “Some serious magic did happen despite all the struggle.” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com.
