Tom Petty has offered an update on his upcoming new album from Mudcrutch. “I’m kind of frantically working on material for that right now, really over the past month,” Petty told Rolling Stone when asked if the songs for the album were already written. “The good thing is that everybody brings in a song so I don’t have to write 12 or something. But I’m working on it. Some of the most fun I have is those Mudcrutch sessions. It was just so much fun and I think that’s one of the better albums I was ever involved in. I’m hoping it’s something like that again. It’d kind of intimidating to have to follow it up.” Petty added that he wants the band to tour, specifically mentioning the East Coast, when the record is done.
