Roger Waters Has Idea For His Next Project
Roger Waters says he’s starting to think about his next project, a “radio play” set in the context of war torn Northern Ireland. Roger Waters says he’s starting to think about his next project, a “radio play” set in the context of war torn Northern Ireland. The play, he told Rolling Stone, would center on two characters, coping with the prospect of violence on a daily basis. “It’s a grandfather, and he is a bit of a misanthrope, and he’s complaining – maybe he’s me – about a war he’s watching on TV,” Waters began. “He’s sitting there with his dog, drinking whiskey, and then this kid wakes up and you realize he’s babysitting. The kid is having a nightmare and the nightmare is that they’re killing the children and the grandfather says, ‘No, no, they aren’t killing the children, not for 20 years,’ since it is in Northern Ireland, where they had the Troubles.” “I don’t know,” Waters adds. “S-‘s not easy.” It’s been 20 years since Waters’ last solo project, Amused to Death. He added that, once the project is finished, he’d like to tour behind it. “I’d like to do one more if I can,” he said. “I think I’ve got one more in me.” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com.
