A new Jimi Hendrix documentary, Jimi Hendrix: Electric Church, is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on October 30. The doc, which chronicles Hendrix’s July 4, 1970, show at the second Atlanta International Pop Festival, debuted on Showtime this fall. The footage sees Hendrix playing to his largest U.S. crowd in his career, which was estimated at between 300,000 and 400,000 people. The concert took place 10 weeks before he died, and the doc features interviews with rock luminaries like Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood and Kirk Hammett. Also featured are Alex Cooley, and Jimi’s former bandmates, Billy Cox and the late Mitch Mitchell.
