The Eagles’ Glenn Frey “has had a recurrence of previous intestinal issues, which will require major surgery and a lengthy recovery period,” according to a statement released by the band. The pending surgery has caused the cancellation of a Kennedy Center ceremony in which the band was to be honored. The Eagles were to be recognized for a lifetime of work in the arts during the Kennedy Center Honors on December 6. That portion of the ceremony has now been put off until 2016. Their statement noted that “all four Eagles – Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt – can attend” next year. “We send our best wishes to Glenn for a swift and full recovery,” Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter said in a statement. “It felt only right to defer bestowing this extraordinary honor to the group when Glenn could also be in attendance.” Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com.
