Bruce Springsteen has released a video clip of “Ramrod” taken from a performance in Tempe, Arizona on November 5, 1980. The clip comes as a promo for the Boss’ upcoming box set, The Ties That Bind: The River Collection. The performance came the day after Ronald Reagan was elected president – an outcome for which Springsteen was not pleased. “I don’t know what you guys think about what happened last night, but I think it’s pretty frightening,” he tells the crowd before launching into “Ramrod.” According to Backstreets.com, the footage – taken by a four man camera crew – is superb. “Numerous vantage points, including wide shots from the back of the floor, show a vintage performance in ways no other video release has before Tempe.” The Ties That Bind: The River Collection lands December 4.
