Sting was among the acts to perform at David Lynch’s Meditation Benefit Concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall on Wednesday night. The star studded affair raised money for Lynch’s foundation, Change Begins Within. Sting performed his 1988 tune “Englishman in New York,” along with “Shape of My Heart,” “Fields of Gold” and “Fragile.” “I’m in a very stressful situation right now. I’m about to sit in this chair that Sharon has just vacated and play the guitar,” he said referring to classical guitarist Sharon Isbin, who accompanied him on “Shape of My Heart.” “It’s a high level of stress. Luckily, I’ve been meditating for a while.” Change Begins Within partners with the Veterans Administration, military bases, fire departments and police departments to bring Transcendental Meditation to 1,000 veterans and first responders who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and their families in the Greater New York area, according to its website.
