The Eagles’ have postponed their upcoming event at the Kennedy Center after Glenn Frey fell ill. The band were to be recognized for a lifetime of work in the arts during the Kennedy Center Honors on December 6. Frey “had a recurrence of previous intestinal issues, which will require major surgery and a lengthy recovery period,” according to a statement released by the band. The Eagles will now receive the honor in 2016. “We send our best wishes to Glenn for a swift and full recovery,” Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter said in a statement. “It felt only right to defer bestowing this extraordinary honor to the group when Glenn could also be in attendance.” Meanwhile, this year’s event – featuring honorees Carole King, George Lucas and Cicely Tyson, among others – will proceed as planned. The event airs on CBS on December 29. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
