Given Steven Tyler’s success in TV and recent venture into solo music, Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford says the rest of the group feels a “little bit abandoned.” “I guess he seems to think his solo career is going to go great guns,” Whitford tells Billboard. “He doesn’t seem to realize that – in my opinion – his fans around the globe want to see him in the context of Aerosmith and don’t really care for whatever he thinks he’s gonna do.” While Tyler explores his solo country career, Whitford has teamed up with and Derek St. Holmes, who are currently working on the follow-up to their 1981 album, Whitford/St. Holmes. “We’ve been writing songs for probably . the last couple of years, and doing a lot of playing,” Whitford said. “We play around town, around Nashville quite a bit. Yeah, we just decided we gotta do this record. We had so much material, we said, ‘Well, we better record this.’ It’s coming along really good.” The duo’s Reunion is expected to land sometime in 2016.
