Details regarding the upcoming stage musical Lazarus from David Bowie have surfaced. Speaking with the New York Times, director Ivo van Hove says the plot centers on a character named Newton. “[A] man unable to die, his head soaked in cheap gin, and haunted by a past love. We follow Newton through the course of a few days where the arrival of another lost soul might set him free.” Enda Walsh, who co-wrote the project with Bowie, says that fans can expect “a mixture of romance and itchy violence” and added, “I understand that isolated, lonely, broken, unstable sort of character.” “Blackstar,” the title track from Bowie’s upcoming album, was initially rumored to feature in the musical, although that rumor has since been shot down. Blackstar lands on January 8. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
