U2’s Bono purchased new phones for the members of Eagles of Death Metal after the band’s gig at Paris’ Bataclan was shot up by terrorists. Bono says he intervened when he found out the band members lost their phones in the melee. “The best thing we could do for our fellow musicians,” he says, “was to buy them phones. Jesse [Hughes EODM singer] said, just getting the phones to be texting and all the stuff that you do – social media – to find out what’s going on. Their phones were in the venue.” Bono said he also offered EODM U2’s jet, but that the band “found another way [home].” “Jesse took me through every moment,” Bono added. “They really need proper counseling, though – not from a well-meaning Irish rock star. Because post-traumatic stress disorder is a real issue for people who go through these things. They’re going to come through fine, but it was pretty bad.” U2 had two scheduled Paris shows canceled after the attacks. Copyright(c) 2015 RTTNews.com. All Rights ReservedLess «
