The late Natalie Cole was honored during a memorial service at West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles on Monday. A host of celeb friends turned out including Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Chaka Khan, Johnny Mathis and Gladys Knight. According to ABC, Wonder sang with the church choir on one song while Cole’s son Robbie played drums during another song. Richie added his memories of Cole. “I will always remember her laughter, her humor, her silliness, that voice and more importantly her friendship. There were many moments she was down and she picked me up.” Cole died on New Year’s Eve at age 65 of heart failure. She was laid to rest next to her parents Nat King Cole and Maria Cole.
