A clip of Steven Tyler’s performance on the PBS series Front and Center, featuring his rendition of the Janis Joplin cut “Piece of My Heart,” has been released. The performance came during Tyler’s acoustic set at the Melrose Ballroom in Long Island City, New York on September 10. “Steven Tyler is one of the greatest creative minds of our time,” says a rep for Front and Center. “To have him in this setting stripping down his music to the essence of what makes a great song – paying tribute to that craft – is an honor for us.” The concert saw the Aerosmith fronter performing with Nashville group Loving Mary.
