Eagles co-founders Don Henley and Bernie Leadon were joined by former members Joe Walsh, Tim Schmit, along with sometime collaborator Jackson Browne for a tribute to departed Eagle Glenn Frey at Monday’s Grammys. The boys gave a rendition of “Take It Easy” a song that Frey wrote with Browne. For the live performance, Browne took center stage and sang lead vocals while the rest of the group added backing vocals and harmonies. “I wrote this song with Glenn Frey,” said Browne of “Take It Easy” during a Florida concert last week. “It’s a song that I started, but I didn’t finish it. Even if I had finished it by myself, it wouldn’t be the song that it is and it wouldn’t be the song that we all love.” Frey died in January of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.
