The Rides, the Stephen Stills-fronted supergroup, has released “Virtual World,” the lead single from their upcoming album Pierced Arrow. The group also features Barry Goldberg and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. “A pierced arrow is one with a hole in its feathers – no telling where it will end up,” says Stills of the new album. “It could be a fierce warrior about to unleash an arrow that has been tampered with, just as likely to come back and hit him. I kinda feel that way about the general state of things. Sometimes well-intended messages will veer wildly off course.” Pierced Arrow – which follows the Rides’ 2013 debut Can’t Get Enough – is due May 6. The Rides will support the record with a tour beginning in Burnsville, Minnesota on May 2.
